The length of this shorter term work will be negotiated at the first session and reviewed regularly. Counselling is booked either for 10 weekly sessions or for 3 or 6 months. Weekly sessions are either paid for at the end of each session, or at the end of each month.
Weekly sessions run for 50 minutes, and begin on the hour. Your space is booked for the entirety of the arc of your counselling and I will not see anyone in that space, even if you don't show.
It is sometimes impossible for a client to make weekly sessions due to travel, lifestyle, etc. In these cases I will see you for counselling every other week. These sessions will also run for 50 minutes and begin on the hour. Your space is booked for the entirety of the arc of your counselling and I will not see anyone in that space, even if you don't show.
The length of this longer term, depth work, is likely to be open ended, however, reviews will still take place, usually every 3-6 months, or sometimes for very long term work, yearly. This keeps the work on track and allows us to make sure the work is serving you, and addressing what you came for, as well as looking to the future.
Weekly sessions run for 50 minutes, and begin on the hour. Your space is booked for open ended therapy, and I will not see anyone in that space, even if you don't show.
In an attempt to encourage therapy becoming less taboo, I offer the lower price, for clients who have been referred by former clients. It the "friends and family discount".

The same discounts that apply to weekly psychotherapy sessions apply here.
Coaching is different from therapy in that it is more directive in nature, and does not deal with deeply held unconscious issues. Coaching is more relevant to running your life more efficiently, or with less stress. It is also never a good substitute for therapy. Many of my coaching clients are former therapy clients honing their practice, or those who have had therapy elsewhere. Some clients are looking for a supportive, creative environment within which to experiment with positive change.
There are two points of contact during a coaching contract, which can run for 3, 6, 9, or 12 months. First we will meet for a 50 minute coaching session, in two weeks this will be followed by a 20 minute "check in" call, on the telephone.
Your space is booked for the entirety of the arc of your coaching and I will not see anyone in that space, even if you don't show. You will be charged for a missed session.

Sometimes clients come to me with big changes that they want to make in their lives - it may be a weight loss, a career or health goal, etc. In these cases, it is important to have other resources in place, which we can discuss in our first session. In these cases, where individuals are very well resourced outside our sessions, we schedule four meetings during the year, with monthly 20 min phone calls.
This is depth longer term work for couples experiencing difficulty in their relationship. This could include emotional distance, sexual issues, infidelity, differences in beliefs about what marriage is and should be, and any combination of the above. *
As humans, we are drawn to connect, and romantic connection is often one of the most fantasised about partnerships that we come across. The weight of our conscious expectations, unconscious beliefs, and over taxed schedules, often leave us wondering where the dream went. The work I do with couples has at its foundation, acknowledgement of each individual and the complexity of desire, disappointment and wounding, that they bring to the partnership. It is intense and transformative work (90 mins).
Most couples find it helpful to have at least one session apart from their partners. Usually clients have a number of individual 50 min sessions. I am happy to work to support each individual, as supported individuals aid partnerships. However, if one of the individuals is not interested in separate sessions, I am happy to refer the individual that is looking for support outside of the couples therapy, to a colleague.
While the cancellation policy is below, when you begin therapy, I will remind you of what happens when you need to cancel a session.
The work that we do has at its core your health and wellbeing. The time and money that you spend on your therapy is in aid of you. Therefore, once we have contracted to work together, we do so in an understanding that in respect of your commitment to yourself, you will endeavour to make each appointment. If you can not make it to an appointment, in the majority of cases you will still be charged. In ongoing emergent circumstances it may be that we negotiate a break in the therapy.
Everything that applies for the Counselling clients (above) applies for psychotherapy clients, with one caveat. Due to the long term nature of many psychotherapy clients, I give two sessions per year (often taken as holiday) which clients can miss their sessions without paying. These session spaces will be offered to other clients as “emergency” spots, or will be used by new clients as their assessment session.
